Formula philosophy:
The formula is related to the harmonization of Blood when a “Cold” and “Warm” image is observed simultaneously. In TCM, Blood is associated with the feeling of comfort, fullness and stability in life. When influenced by Cold or Warm, this sense of balance can be disturbed. The guide describes C.& WARM as a basic formula for addressing this disharmony.
Action:
Harmonizes the Blood. Traditionally associated with balancing conditions where elements of cold, heat and stasis coexist in the Blood.
Indications (TCM):
In TCM it refers to Heat and Cold in Blood. Traditionally it is associated with irregular menstruation, uterine bleeding, feverish feeling, abdominal discomfort, dry mouth and images related to menopause.
Description in Western terminology:
The formula is described as being relevant to periods where contradictory physical and emotional patterns coexist, such as feeling cold with hot flashes, changes in body comfort, mood swings, sleep disturbances, and discomfort around the female cycle or the menopausal transition. The guide also mentions long-term infertility, menorrhagia, and amenorrhea in younger women. The above descriptions are traditional/descriptive terminology and do not constitute a medical claim.
Physical level (TCM):
When, in TCM, Blood is affected by Cold and Hot simultaneously, experiences such as coldness in the abdomen or extremities, pallor, pain, fatigue, as well as hot flashes, sweating, nervousness and sleep disturbances are often described. The formula is traditionally associated with balancing these opposing tendencies, especially in different phases of menopause. The guide also notes that it may be useful for men with corresponding symptoms of “Cold” paralysis and “Hot” agitation.
Psychological level (TCM):
It is described in the guide as supportive for men or women who have difficulty accepting changes in their environment, personal transitions or social readjustments. It is also associated with experiences such as shame, guilt, embarrassment, fear, confusion, indecision, agitation, nervousness, sleep disturbances and panic episodes.
Spiritual level (TCM):
It is traditionally associated with the ability to move more smoothly from one phase of life to another, maintaining a sense of internal coherence and balance even when opposing trends or changes coexist.
